MANAGING ARTIST REQUESTS

Create a culture where you are intercepting artist feedback.

  • As a manager, it’s your responsibility to guide and provide parameters for your talent. Therefore, the portfolio process should be a collaboration between you and your editor. Managers should always be aware of artists’ concerns and intercept artist requests as often as possible.

  • If a portfolio re-vamp is desired by artist, artist may come in for a one-on-one with the portfolio editor. Managers should attend the beginning of the meeting to set the tone. Time allotment should be communicated to the artist ahead of time to keep meetings efficient.

  • New artist kick-off meetings are encouraged. Kick-off meetings can include the artist, assistant, manager, Portfolio

    Editor, and Archivist.
